About Dr Alexey Sidorov

Dr. Alexey Sidorov is an experienced Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist who is experienced in providing assessments for criminal and civil cases, covering matters such as fitness for work, medical negligence, personal injury and institutional abuse.

Dr. Sidorov’s completed his Bachelor of Medical Science with Majors in Pharmacology and Biochemistry, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from The University of Sydney. He pursued his Masters of Psychiatry at the NSW Institute of Psychiatry and completed a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Mental Health at the University of New South Wales.

During his early medical career, he underwent internships and residencies covering areas such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Redbank House, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Westmead Hospital, and Addiction and Geriatric Psychiatry at Royal North Shore Hospital.  He also received training in Forensic Psychiatry at Justice Health in New South Wales and has worked in several psychiatric units, including the Austinmer Unit of the Forensic Hospital, The Bunya Forensic Unit at Cumberland Hospital, and Long Bay Hospital.

Dr. Sidorov has held significant roles including as a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry (VMO) within the mid-North Coast Local Health District and the ACT Forensic Mental Health Service. Presently, Dr Sidorov is the VMO with Justice Health, NSW, where he works with inmates at the Metropolitan Reception and Remand Centre in Silverwater.
