Dr Andrew Gleason completed advanced training in neuropsychiatry at Royal Melbourne Hospital, leading to Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He then qualified in old age psychiatry (psychogeriatrics) and was awarded the Trainee Prize for doctors sub-specialising in this discipline in Australasia. 

Having run the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre Psychopharmacology stream, Dr Gleason then became Head of Aged Psychiatry Research at Alfred Health, and a Senior Specialist in Neuropsychiatry at the Victorian Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service at Calvary Healthcare, Bethlehem. He runs an outreach clinic for people with Huntington’s disease in Northern Tasmania and is principal investigator in a number of clinical trials of new therapies for Alzheimer’s disease.

He is a Member of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry, the Faculty of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and the Section of Neuropsychiatry of the RANZCP.
