About Dr Christian Acksteiner
Originally from Germany, Dr Acksteiner studied medicine at the University of Cologne before moving to Australia and completing his training in Radiology at the Gold Coast University Hospital. Driven by a strong desire for knowledge, he further specialized in Nuclear Medicine completing a 2-year Fellowship at the John Hunter Hospital.
Due to his dual training in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Dr Acksteiner can use a combination of anatomical and physiological information to reach diagnosis. He is experienced in reviewing a range of images and reports including –
- planar imaging, SPECT-CT & PET imaging (including FDG, PSMA and DONTATATE) for Dementia assessment.
- CT, MRI, plain file mostly for Brain, Spine, Knees and Prostrate
- Ultrasound imaging of the Abdomen, Pelvis and MSK.
Dr Acksteiner understands the importance of recognizing the requirements of report writing and answering the actual questions posed and using the right structure and terminology appropriate to the specific circumstances.
