With a strong foundation in education and counselling, Dr. Baron-Levi has worked in schools, providing assessment and counselling services to children and adolescents dealing with various challenges, including behavioural issues and psychological disorders. He has also played a key role in coordinating special education services for the Department of School Education, specifically focusing on children with disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries. Furthermore, he served as a specialist counsellor for children with emotional and behavioural disorders.
Dr. Baron-Levi completed his doctorate in neuropsychology, specializing in the assessment of executive function in young individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI). His research led to the development of a developmental measure for executive function, and he presented his findings at national and international conferences organized by the International Neuropsychological Society and the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
As a psychologist with over 35 years of experience, Dr. Baron-Levi has been actively involved in the assessment and rehabilitation of both young people and adults facing psychological issues, including anxiety, adjustment disorders, PTSD, and ABI. He has provided consultancy services and personalized training, focusing on compensatory strategies and support for clients and their families dealing with adjustment difficulties.
For the past 26 years, Dr. Baron-Levi has operated from his Bondi Junction office, conducting medico-legal assessments and cognitive rehabilitation for clients with trauma-related injuries, such as anxiety, adjustment issues, PTSD, and acquired brain injury.
Dr. Baron-Levi’s contributions to the field have been recognized through his publications on brain injury and self-esteem. He has also presented his work at conferences held by esteemed organizations such as the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI), the International Neuropsychological Society, and the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists. Additionally, he has conducted workshops in collaboration with the Queensland Brain Injury Association.
An accomplished author, Dr. Baron-Levi penned “The Hairy Bikie and Other Metacognitive Strategies” (published by Springer, New York). This book outlines the cognitive rehabilitation strategies he developed over three decades to aid clients with traumatic brain injuries in compensating for their deficits.
