About Dr Matthew Boulton
Because of his interest in the treatment of childhood and adult trauma, and other adversity, Dr Boulton has completed eye movement and desensitisation reprocessing training through the EMDR Training Institute, accredited by EMDRIA. He is an accredited member of the RANZCP Faculty of Psychotherapy, had psychodynamic psychotherapy training, and previously trained in CBT at the CRUFAD Anxiety Disorders Clinic. He has extensive experience with biological approaches, including medication, lifestyle modification, and evidence-based complementary treatments. He annually surpasses all continuing practice development (CPD) requirements set by the RANZCP.
Dr Boulton’s assessment focusses on building rapport through empathy, a thorough history, a bio-psycho-socially informed formulation, and advice on appropriate treatment options if requested. Dr Boulton has a non-judgmental and accepting approach to patients from all cultural, religious, gender and sexuality backgrounds.
