Dr Tom Sullivan completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Melbourne before specialising in anaesthetics at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. This was followed by a further subspecialty in cardiothoracic and transplant anaesthesia at Royal Papworth Hospital in the UK.

Upon returning to Melbourne, Dr Sullivan has worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Western Health and The Royal Melbourne Hospital where he attends as a Visiting Specialist. Dr Sullivan is currently an instructor of the National Airway Course for Anaesthetic Trainees, lecturer at the final exam course for anaesthetic registrars, and is involved in quality improvement projects at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Dr Sullivan has continued to expand his knowledge via the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Continuing Professional Development program and recently completed a course in cardiac anaesthesia at Cambridge.

He brings an extensive range of expertise to matters involving difficult and emergency airway management, management of high-risk patients, acute trauma management, advanced resuscitation management and acute and postoperative pain management.
