About
Professor Collinson has a deep understanding of clinical neuropsychology across geographies and cultures with significant experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with patients suffering from traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, issues of mental competence, and associated co-morbidities.
Professor Collinson completed undergraduate studies in psychology at Curtain University, Western Australia in 1990. He completed a Master of Science (Clinical Neuropsychology) in 1997 with a thesis on Tardive Dyskinesia and a Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Medicine) 2001, at the University of Oxford UK, with a thesis examining Cerebral Laterality on Early Onset Schizophrenia.
Professor Collinson has trained and worked in numerous hospitals around the world, including the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred & Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Epworth and Alfred Hospitals in Melbourne, the Warmeford Hospital in Oxford, UK and the National University Hospital, Novena Medical Centre and Orchard Road Clinic in Singapore.
Professor Collinson’s academic contributions include over 90 authored or co-authored scientific publications and 5 book chapters. He maintains clinical practice in Perth and Singapore and holds a Professorship in Psychology at James Cook University.
