TAKE NECESSARY STEPS NEEDED TO MANAGE WORK-RELATED STRESS
Stress Less. Thrive More.
Everyone who has ever held a job has, at some point, felt the pressure of work-related stress. Any job can have stressful elements, even if you love what you do. In the short-term, you may experience pressure to meet a deadline or to fulfil a challenging obligation. But when work stress becomes chronic, it can be overwhelming — and harmful to both physical and emotional health.
Unfortunately, such long-term stress is all too common. In Australian, more than $133.9 million was paid in benefits to workers who had made claims related to workplace stress during the last tax year. According to the National Health and Safety Commission, work-related stress accounts for the longest stretches of absenteeism. What one person may perceive as stressful, another may view as challenging.
Whether a person experiences work-related stress depends on the job, the person’s psychological make-up, and other factors (such as personal life and general health).
